Title Stability Properties of the Thermohaline Circulation (THC)

 Abstract Studies from simple climate models and GCMs indicate that the THC may be sensitive to climate changes resulting from enhancements of greenhouse gases. I am working with Benoit Morel to develop a simple model to probe the stability properties of the THC. We are applying this model to design GCM experiments for further study of potential THC collapse, and for developing indicators to monitor the temporal evolution of the THC.
